Last night I was thinking about the Black Panther Party. These men were trying to police the black community juxtapose the regular police. The administration at the time was conservative and corrupt. As far as my thoughts go the Panthers were far more conservative but, in a contrary way. They were against the system as were a lot of people at the time. However, they were reluctant to have the hippie and yippie movement join their cause because, of the drug use.
Today we have a corrupt system or at least one that has failed most people. A couple of winters ago I was at a family gathering the topic of a church shooting came into conversation. My uncle mentioned that he might bring a gun to church for protection of himself and the other parishioners. This is the same mentality as the Black Panthers, however, my uncle is white and conservative. He wants to stand guard at church. It is funny how history repeats itself but, in a strange way. Should ushers carry weapons at our gathering places to keep us from harm in this failed system? Do we need another rise of militant people but, in what form and ideals? Shouldn't the police take care of us, but are not or cannot? In these extreme times with extreme people what is next for America and even the human race? An answer to these questions should be left to evolution and I suppose 'the strong will survive', in an extreme conclusion. On the other hand we could say, 'fuck it' to our petty concerns and give a metaphorical hug or even a real one. Enjoy the tunes...
