Description

In sociology there are three types of people. There are conformists on one end who are happy to get a job, get married, watch TV and, have one beer because it's good for you. On the other end are the deviants. Who are criminals, pathological liars, stalkers and all around miscreants. In the middle we have the innovators. Who move in between. When I learned this I was instantly attracted to the term innovator. It seems like a utopian way of life. I can have a few beers and leave people be. During this pandemic and the chaos of our new lives I have noticed a change in norms. I also have noticed that more people are becoming deviants that were once conformists to deal with again the chaos of our world. Bad seems to be the new good. Deviants are good at changing conformists into deviants in times of strife. But, the knowledge of the innovators I have gained kept me from skipping that middle step. I feel innovators are good and don't seem to just jump on the boat and/or just sit back "with a cool Coors Light and watch Mork and Mindy on channel 67."
