Description

-I live for the funk, I love for the funk-

This track is comprised entirely of my vocals.

As I was playing on the stage,
I caught your face in a shimmering place and you partied right there with me.

After the show,
I met you out,
on the chilly urban sidewalk collar covered above your mouth.

Cigarettes, baguettes, silhouettes,
Yeah we smoked and we ate and we walked in the shadows hiding from New York.

She asked me how,
I do what I do,
So I strapped my boots that I copied from you to tell her what I do.

See I must do this music thing or I will die,
See it's got me by the neck, come to think of it, the throat,
It tells me what to do next.

It tells me to sing,
It tells me to cry,
It tells me to love the mic to let it all out and just give it a try.

So I asked her,
"How would you like
to join me for the ride,
come along for the tour,
join me in the spotlight,
join me for the roar?"

She said, "Maybe,
I don't date rockers.
So prove to me that you're not another head-in-the-ass douchebag-talker."

I said, "Baby!!"
She said, "Don't ever call me baby.
Not yet at least."

"So how can I prove
that this will be fun?
Should I buy you all the drinks and roll you all the joints until this tour is done?"

She said she "don't need that.
"I want to see how you can treat me.
I want to see how you can be a sober soul to me."

I immediately promised to adhere to her own needs,
because if I'm trying to still get high then I'll tell you rockin's all I need.
