“RADIO OWLSNEST Episode 10"
Well - we hit the grand total of ten shows today, never thought I’d get this far... but I do have a stubborn routine addictive nature, so Radio Owlsnest continues onwards on its strange trajectory. This particular episode has a paranormal atmosphere about it... things that go bump in the night definitely affect some of my song choices here.
As well as tunes from the ‘other side’, I’ll spin a couple of very rare demos written with Bernie Taupin. One that portrays the city of angels (Los Angeles), in a very unique way I fancy. The other, a pretty special demo I’ve always felt very proud of, where I and Bernie I think, got most everything right.
You’ll hear some brand new freshly minted songs of mine; one that calls for a ‘holy man’ to deliver his spiritual power - maybe to exorcise some of the demons that seem to be roaming about untethered in the Radio Owlsnest studio today. And another that hopefully transports you back to an ancient haunted celtic woodland bridge... yes, we’re in the territory of dark romantic myth here.
There’s also quite a special little announcement in today’s show; the introduction of a new band signing to my independent Ironingboard label. A band that sound more 80s that the 80s actually sounded - very excited about it. I’ll spin some new music from this eclectic German based group.
Of-course the usual bewildering trash shall emit from my always open mouth - and attempts at cheap humor will no-doubt fall upon barren ground. The hated and loathed quiz will relentlessly appear and annoy you again..... the ultimate awful torture that all loyal OwlHead listeners are REQUIRED to endure.
All in all, hopefully our tenth show together stimulates the love of creativity and the art of songwriting. Because after all, that’s what Radio Owlsnest is all about. Igniting our curiosity in the essence, the magic and the healing power of song.
