Welcome home again to the musical nest, you crazy OwlHeads, it’s time for another episode of my slightly deranged songwriter’s podcast - in a place where you’ll only hear my demos, sprinkled with the odd brand new ditty (craftily thrown in there to prove that I’m really - yes REALLY - still alive!). Hard to believe, right?
So, my feral OwlHeads, prepare thy selves for more retro shenanigans.
In this month’s show, I’ll spin a new Q-Feel track that’s in the process of being written as we speak; I’ll showcase a spanking new track from a forthcoming instrumental/ambient album of mine that relates to the works of Gandhi; and I’ll play a totally rare, unfinished demo that I wrote and recorded with the great blue-eyed soul boy, Paul Young ... before he vanished, roaring into the night on his shiny new Harley Davidson.
A curious unheard song I wrote in the naughty 90s with the legendary session singer Tommy Funderburk will be given its first ever airing.... (the ghosts of Roxy Music and Icehouse hover near). And, being a media fanatic, I’ll try and turn you to some new books and movies I’m investigating and enjoying.
And a call-in by the notorious Southern belle, Lucy Cadillac, triggers the genius wisdom of Bootsie, the resident feline ‘know it all’. Profound consequences abound!
