“ Radio Owlsnest Episode 20 “

‘Thank you OwlHeads for indulging me with the three part ‘In the House of Stone and Light’ specials... I hope you enjoyed them. Now we’re back to basics again... just me raiding the archives for rarely heard demos. And this month’s raid of the vaults is pretty intriguing. I’ll be playing you my first ever major label solo release - released just before the ‘In the House of Stone and Light’ album... a song that Lou Gramm of Foreigner wanted to record. My alter ego band King Skatterboxx will lay down the psychodynamic electric funk followed by the premier of a song featured on my imminent second solo instrumental/ambient album - “The Occupation of Hope”... a track that exhorts the virtues of taking a stroll with one’s father on an ancient Roman bridge in southern England.

The wisdom of the Ironingboard record’s mascot and resident mouse catcher - Bootsie - will be called upon again, and society will be enlightened towards a more existential future.

I’ll spin a rough track I’m very excited about that will feature on a future Martin Page edgy... black and white - politically toned future solo album. And it was great fun to find a demo written in the mists of time that encourages us, ecologically - to look at what we have ... and how lucky we are to be living on this little pale blue dot in the vast universe.

And then I have a Peter Cox of Go West extravaganza... where I play two demo gems we composed during ‘The King of Wishful Thinking’ days... WE NEED TO GET GO WEST TO TOUR CALIFORNIA AGAIN. Hands up who agree... Go West - white T-shirts - suntans - Go West and California are just made to be together - RIGHT?

So join me lads and lasses of the Owl brigade for episode 20. My God - “never thought I’d get my feet this far” - that’s a lot of shows for a lad who said he’d only record one.

Come on in
Martin
