My God that year went fast! - when you’re a vintage OwlHead such as I am… time is constantly accelerating past you; my wings can’t flap fast enough 🦉. But I do love Christmas, and this is a rather special end of the year show that I’ve prepared for you. I’ll let you in on a little secret ... I have a very unique gift to share with you in this particular festive episode. It’s my humble present to you all, to thank you for another year of wonderful “OwlHead” support. I hope you like it.
As normal, I’ll be playing you ancient sonic artifacts from my dusty demo song archives, as well as the odd brand new freshly minted musical creation - a smorgasbord of styles and vibes yet again!
Amongst this month’s ditties, I’ll be spinning a rare demo written with Jon Lind (songwriter: E.W.F/Madonna, etc.); a song recorded live on 8 track analog with Steve Miller’s/Bruce Springsteen’s/Van Morrison’s drummer, Gary Mallaber, holding down the groove. Another demo written with the fine writer/singer Peter Beckett (remember “Baby Come Back”, by Player?) will be aired in all its raw naked glory.
I’ll play you a spanking new track that I’m writing for a future Christmas pagan winter album, and I’ll do my imitation (bad), of Elvis - on a new rockabilly track on which I got to play my steel resonator guitar ... what more could you possibly desire, I ask???
Well there is something even more mind blowing than that … Her Majesty the Queen will be dropping in after her Christmas address to the British nation, to ask Bootsie a most pressing question that has been profoundly niggling and bothering her.
And of course, as I mentioned earlier, I have a rather splendid special Xmas gift for you - embedded within the proceedings.
