Radio OwlsNest with Brian Fairweather Special – Part 1
”Calling all OwlHeads! Calling all OwlHeads!” Announcing here a Radio OwlsNest special, featuring the multi talented Brian Fairweather, my songwriter partner from the late 70s, 80s and 90s onward.
Brian joins me for a deep, crazy dive into our multi-faceted musical history together. You’ll hear how Brian escaped Glasgow, how we both owned plastic pink Beatles guitars, how Brian never ever had a hair cut, how we met up and formed Q.Feel together, fended off murderous roadies, nearly killed ourselves with exploding on-stage pyrotechnics, wrote an album with punk legend Wreckless Eric, carried suitcases full of cassettes that deeply unnerved people and how we willingly embarrassed and flaunted ourselves on Britain TV’s “Eurovision Song Contest” (with a furry, hairy-armed drummer). You will hear how we then miraculously found ourselves working with all the great American session musicians we’d studied and revered as kids - AND THEN, in short order, how we were writing songs and recording with the great Earth, Wind and Fire in the golden, unreal sun drenched land of L.A.
Between these uneven and questionable revelations, we’ll be playing you brand new demos that we’re working on now. So join ”Fairweather/Page” as we take a bizarre, bumpy trip down a very long “memory lane”.
