With Halloween in our rearview, we put away the fictional monsters - the vampires, ghosts and ghouls - and set our sights on real monsters; slave owners in Pre-Civil War America. "Harriet" tells the story of slave-turned-abolitionist Harriet Tubman. We discuss the merits of the story, the telling, and the factuality of the first feature-length (WHAT? HOW?) film about an iconic woman in American history.
Per usual, our conversation is fueled by two exciting craft beers. The first is an 8.25% wine barrel-aged pilsner called Intinction from Russian River Brewing from Santa Rosa, CA. The second is a pale ale from Abomination Brewing based out of New Haven, Connecticut called Urayuli which clocks in at 6.3% abv.
