Carla Schmitt brings a refreshing vibe to the French techno movement. Her music is both groovy and melodic accompanied by a dark and sensual energy. Driving her emotions into her productions has been a key component to her success. A self-taught artist, she writes and is also a choreographer with her music has been released on Exhale, Voxnox, Gomboc Records and Dusk Records. The French born DJ, producer, and choreographer Carla Schmitt will inaugurate the newly announced Gears imprint with a spellbinding 4-track EP, titled ‘Fragments’.
Launching with lead track ‘Black Hole’, Schmitt employs a thudding, heartbeat like drum groove at the track’s centre before adding a series of blitzing synth lines and reptilian like effects - the outcome being a fierce, driving techno melody fit for darkest of dancefloors.
