With Revelations V, Oculus marks a shift in his own arc. The release moves between two pulls; heavy, low-end pressure on one side; melodic, dream-state atmospheres on the other letting the friction between them to define the work.
There's a tension every techno producer eventually meets: the pull between music that fits cleanly into a mix and music that wants to tell a longer story. With Revelations V he stops treating it as a question. The EP assumes the floor and speaks to it directly.
