Amy Cavalier, leader of the Rochester Minimalists, will kick-off the discussion with a presentation about Minimalism 101, followed by presentations and a question and answer session with herself and the following panelists:

Ben Albert is on a lifelong journey to unravel the art of optimal experience. After discovering minimalism, along with many other progressive health and wellness lifestyles, he decided to quit his full-time job and start his own music promotions company, Rochester Groovecast. Ben traded in steady financial gains in pursuit of a more fulfilling career and lifestyle in a field he is deeply fond of, music.

Nicole deViere is a local yoga teacher / holistic wellness lifestyle counselor who owns and operates Yoga DrishTi Community Wellness located in Rochester, N.Y. Minimalism is a natural part of being a yogi; focusing on what you already have and valuing the internal before the external. Throughout her childhood, Nicole moved around the country countless times which naturally brought about a quality of less is more. What once seemed a weakness (having less), has proved to be the most valuable attribute for Nicole and made her spiritually wealthy beyond any possession. Nicole is passionate about sharing what she’s learned with those who are looking for ways to align, connect, and experience the life enhancing qualities of a holistic lifestyle.

A homeowner for 13 years, Jaime Beligotti recently downsized to a one bedroom apartment. In the process, she’s discovered that having less material possessions allows her more time and focus for her passions, which include helping people get organized, as well as design and decorating. While many of her extended family members enjoyed collecting things and going to yard sales, she prefers cleaning and purging items. Beligotti purchases many of her clothing items from upscale second hand shops and in 2018, she hopes to focus on reducing her food waste and the amount of trash she produces.
