To set the stage …here are the credentials of Jesus Christ as the Sovereign Judge
John Ch 5 Jesus :- Has Equality with the Father v 18 “ equal with God”
- He acts in Unity with the Godhead v 19 “ the same as the Father”
- He RAISES the dead ..V 21\
- He gives LIFE,
- He EXECUTES judgment, V 27 “he has authority to execute judgment”
3 Points
1./ Jesus Christ has authority and will EXECUTE judgment in the last day (John 5:27)
2./ Men have accountability will stand before Him and Every knee will bow the knee (Phi 2:10)
3./ Every believer has EXEPMTION from judgment for sin (John 5:24)

The Resurrection to LIFE - THE FIRST RESURRECTION
When will it happen ? At the Rapture of the Church
I Thess 4 V 16..the dead in Christ will rise
I Cor 15 V 51 at the last trumpet …the dead in Christ will be raised”
Who will take part in it ? The righteous ..the dead “IN CHRIST” – Believers
Righteous here does not refer to works based salvation, but to righteous character
“ righteousness that comes by faith” Romans 4:5 “he that worketh not but believes”
I Thess 4: 14 ..” IF we believe that Jesus died and rose…those who sleep in Jesus”
“rejoice your names are written in Heaven” Luke 10:20
What’s the purpose for this resurrection ?
to be bear the image of the heavenly, ….to be forever changed,
to put on immortality, I Cor 15:49-54 …never DIE John 11:25
to inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation …Matt 25:34
to rest from your labors and to worship God Rev 14:13 “die in the Lord”
to enjoy His pleasures forever Psalm 16:11

The Resurrection to Judgment – THE SECOND RESURRECTION
When will it happen ? At the end of the 1000 years reign of Christ .Rev 20:5
Where will it happen ?
Rev 20:11 “ The heaven and earth fled away…an indescribable void
Who will take part in it ? They that have done evil (and they have not believed)
John 5:29 “ they that have done evil”
Rev 20 :11 “ the dead small and great men “
John 8:21 “ those who die in their sins “If you believe not…”
Rev 20:15 “ whoever was not found written in the book of life”
What’s the purpose for this resurrection?
