Father’s Day – A Message from God to Fathers
2 Peter 1:3 “His divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and
godliness, through the knowledge of Him ….we have precious promises to be
partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption in world through
through lust. “
Fathers… God has given you responsibility and privilege
• Guard the home
• Guide the home
• Growth in the home
• Grace in the home
Leadership is INFLUENCE - “ DON’T SQUANDER IT ”
- Leadership in the family - Gen 18:19 / Psalm 127:3 / Prov 22:6 “ train up a child in the way he should go”
- Leadership in the church - I Peter 5:1 “I exhort elders , shepherd the flock , exercise oversight as God would have you do”
- Leadership in the community - Titus 1:7 have a good report (be of blameless reputation)
Leadership is SPIRITUAL CHARACTER - “ DEVELOP IT - walking with JESUS ”
- example of the LORD JESUS - “ I have given you an example - John 13:15
- Philippians 2: 5 “ let the mind of Christ dwell in you - UNITY, HUMILITY, SERVE
- II Tim 2: 1 “ be strong in GRACE, Endure, suffer for Christ
- I Tim 3:4-7 “ take care for his household, able to teach the WORD, make wise judgments”
Leadership is SACRIFICE - “ BE WILLING TO SERVE ”
- Leadership starts at HOME - Ephesians 5: 22-29
- “ Love your wives as Christ loved the church and sacrificed Himself for it”
- your family, provide for their needs physically, emotionally, spiritually care ”
- Lead your children, connect with your children, DEVELOP your children
Leadership is SPIRITUAL MATURITY - “ HAVE DISCERNMENT ”
- Leadership is NOT a TITLE , it’s not a NOVICE POSITION - I Tim 3:6 “recent to faith”
- Do not lay hands SUDDENLY on a man, …. “ He must be TESTED I TIM 5:22
- Galatians 6:1 “ you who are spiritual - RESTORATION / Conflict resolution in Church
Leadership is MENTORING OTHERS - “ PASS THE TORCH - Equip the next generation”
- Leadership is VISION , TEACHING and INSTRUCTING those coming after you

Reaching Souls and Teaching Saints
• Compassion
• Lack of resources
• Hunger for the Word – open hearts
• Need for teaching and leadership
• Spiritual darkness and demon possession
Mark 6:34 “ He saw the multitudes and was moved with compassion…they
were as sheep without a shepherd”
Matt 9:37 “ the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few”
