In this weeks service, we begin to celebrate the Advent of the birth of Jesus Christ. Pastor Paul Vanden Brink takes a look at the book of John, specifically chapter 1, verses 1-3. These few verses are filled with incredible depth of meaning and significance.
Jesus is the 'word' that John is speaking of here, Jesus is the entirety of same exact power and glory that came from God's own mouth when He spoke the world into existence.
If you have ever struggled with the meaning of life. Or if you believe that there is no purpose, that there is no governing order, that everyone is just doing what they want with no justice or mercy or accountability. If those thoughts bring your soul down and cause you to despair. You can look to Jesus, who loves you (He really does!) and who IS order and who IS justice and who IS hope.
This is not a pat answer. It's not an easy answer to the question: "What is the point of all this living? It kinda sucks." Jesus' words, when you study them, will give you hope and purpose. The hope is to be loved by Him and the purpose is live for Him.
