A note from Matt Collins:
“The Christmas songs that have the most impact for me are the ones that go beyond the manger and the star, etc. and also point us to the purpose of Christmas – the cross. God, who breathed life into His creation, became one of us with the purpose of bearing the sins of that rebellious creation. This gift of love now allows us to not be condemned, but be one with God! God’s word for centuries prophesied that He would send a Savior and that the Savior would die and be raised from the dead. In the life of Jesus we see these ‘prophecies beginning to breathe’ both in His birth and His resurrection. O, that we would see Him, savor Him and share Him!”

O, To See (Emmanuel)

God's people sat in wait for centuries, could God be Late?
Could He be working in our waiting? Emmanuel, Come to us

His Angel spoke to a girl You'll bear the Son who'll save the world
Give him the name above all names Emmanuel, to forever reign

O to see, the newborn King. The prophecy begin to breathe
O to know the begotten Son O to see God with us

He grew in stature like any man. He knew the power of the tempter's hands
Yet undefiled by sin or shame Emmanuel, our Savior's name

Lifted the lowly, restored the lame. The Father's heart He would proclaim
He Came to seek and save the lost Emmanuel upon the cross

O to see the wounded King in agony because of me
from Heaven's throne to earthly dust O to see God for us

Death could not seize Him, could not depress the power of His promises
We are acquitted, We are set free. Emmanuel eternally

O to the risen King The prophecy begin to breathe
Our victory is in the Son O to see

O to see the risen King The prophecy begin to breathe
Our victory is in the Son O to see O to see God in us
