Description

The pressures of becoming a professional athlete can drive one up the fence, as they did to Jimmy Piersall. In 1952, bipolar disorder wasn't assigned to Piersall, who suffered multiple mental breakdowns. After his first major episode, Piersall was diagnosed with "nervous exhaustion." Has much changed for mental healthcare since then, or are we still clamoring for help?
