Robert “RJ” Harper is a PADI-certified scuba diver, model and environmental ambassador with Earth Justice, one of America’s leading environmental justice law firms. Harper embraces Earth Justice’s mission “Because the Earth Needs A Lawyer” and had been a vocal ocean advocate. RJ openly celebrates some of the recent successful beach and ocean cleanups and is slated to Dive with Dixie Divers and PADI on June 15 @ Deerfield Beach, Florida as a Team Leader in “The Largest Underwater Cleanup in the History of World” hoping to set an inspiring Guinness World Record that will be repeatedly broken each year going forward. “I’m very happy to be part of the leadership of this tremendous ocean cleanup by Mr. Arilton Pavan working closely with PADI, Dixie Divers, AquaLung and other committed sponsors to bring global awareness about the devastating things mankind is doing to our delicate oceans.” Harper has appeared on international magazine covers such as Global Man and has appeared in numerous scuba marketing campaigns for major aquatic brands and hopes to build a lasting legacy that ultimately encourages more young people of color to learn swim and embrace aquatic sports. “Every day in America, ten people drown and of those ten, six of them are always persons of color. As PADI divers, I think we all have a broader responsibility in America to help reduce those terrible statistics in the near future by encouraging all people to embrace aquatics early in life because, on some level, all scuba divers are ocean advocates by default.”
