Prof. Christine Rivers is a Professor of Business Education and Mindfulness at Surrey Business School, University of Surrey, specializing in People and Organizations. Her research explores mindfulness, contemplative practices, and their integration into business education and professional development, alongside the role of technology in work and well-being.
A qualified health and lifestyle coach, as well as a yoga, meditation, and breathwork teacher, Prof. Rivers has significantly shaped business education through leadership roles at Surrey and contributions as Associate Editor for the Journal of Management Education and reviewer for renowned organizations. She currently chairs the Teaching and Learning Conference Academy of Management and serves on its executive board for the Management Education and Development Division.
Prof. Rivers holds a National Teaching Fellowship from Advance HE UK and has been honored by the British Academy of Management and others. With a PhD in Social and Organisational Anthropology from Surrey and advanced degrees from the University of Vienna, she actively publishes, contributes to Times Higher Education, and engages in keynote and podcast talks.
