This week we have an interview with Dr. Charles Mullany, a doctor that has been working at the Maricopa County jail in Phoenix AZ for 9 years. Maricopa County is home of the self proclaimed "America's Toughest Sheriff," Joe Arpaio, who just this month was found guilty of criminal contempt in a racial profiling case during his time as sheriff. He served as sheriff of the jail from 1993-2016.
Indigo's Radio's Anna Mullany conducted the interview with Dr. Mullany on a recent trip to AZ - she'll also will be sharing her own learnings within the jail and conversations she had with mental health staff working there.
