Welcome to A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 91 - Pt.1 - THE BEACH: sunset - Café del Mar - Summer 2018 - DJ WOLF e., the first in a series of all-new adventures taking YOU (the listener) on a voyage through the seasons and sound. I feel that each season has its own unique sound, a sub-genre that provides an aural feel of what our other senses experience.
It's 6:00 p.m. on a July evening, WE arrived on IBIZA a few hours ago & headed to OUR (once rented now owned) villa perched high on a hillside sparkling white in the MEDITERRANEAN SUN. After taking long refreshing showers to wash off all those long hours of traveling, WE carefully choose the perfect white linens, open a bottle of Champs and toast to another SUMMER spent on THE MAGIC ISLAND. Heading out, WE take the town car (the roads on IBIZA can be notoriously dangerous) and drive towards Sant Antoni, THE BEACH, and Café del Mar. There simply is no other place on THE MAGIC ISLAND that offers a better start to an evening out than this legendary destination. WE order something light from their menu of MEDITERRANEAN delicacies, a sampler of gorgeous hors-d'oeuvres, the very best Champs (of course) and find the perfect table for one special reason, the best spot on IBIZA (albeit the entire planet) to watch the most spectacular SUNSET that could ever be seen. Now, this is no ordinary SUNSET it's one that must be seen to be believed, to be understood as to exactly why it is so very unique and sacred. It's what WE do, and no pilgrimage to IBIZA would be complete without this well-seasoned ritual. Vivid red, pink, orange, purple & gold paint the sky reflecting on the water as if were composed of those very colors magically turned into liquid. WE are home again on THE MAGIC ISLAND, WE are LIVING THE DREAM and this is just the very beginning . . . CHILL, Nu DISCO, deep HOUSE, HOUSE, ELECTRONICA, Balearic HOUSE, indie DANCE, Balearic TRIBAL, tech HOUSE, progressive HOUSE, TECHNO, future HOUSE and Balearic TRANCE create the perfect backdrop as the SUN burns into the sea.
