Description

Esther is in a GBV coordination meeting. The other organizations that are present are not local, like the organization she works at. She notes this to the group – that it’s majority UN and INGO representation. They need better representation and inclusion from local women’s right organizations. She then discusses her concerns around the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), and the need to coordinate around this. They come up with some ideas for advocacy around PSEA.

In this episode, the focus is on Standard 15 of The Inter-Agency Minimum Standards for Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies Programming, that “coordination results in timely, concrete action to mitigate risks, and prevent and respond to GBV.”
