Description

If you heard episode 2 of the Local Vocal series with actor and director Matt Steiner, then you heard about the theater group THE REPRESENTATIVES. To say their productions are unconventional is putting it lightly, as the masterminds behind the group, Steiner and playwright/director/producer Stan Richardson, create three productions (at least) a year, often combining multi-media – film and special audio techniques – and involve and challenge audiences whenever they perform. But now with VERITAS, their first production that is available for the general public, they bring a little-known but explosive story from 1920 involving Harvard and men caught in a controversy that will change their lives.

Jack talks with Steiner once again with Stan also on mic as they talk about this new play, how it came to be produced, it’s background, and what it means to have a cast that expands on what is (and isn’t) known about the true case (including one cast member that is deaf). This is also a special Local Vocal as it’s a two-parter: listen to this short interview about this new play, and tune in to the second part for a longer, 80 minute interview with Richardson about life and work as a playwright for the Reps.
