If we were to ask everyone in the South Bay to give the top few words that come to mind when they hear the word "church," it's not likely the word "freedom" would be near the top of the list. And yet, Paul wrote his letter to the network of churches in Galatia to call them to a life with God characterized by freedom in Jesus. So what are we to make of the disparity between this biblical vision for the church as a community of freedom on the one hand and the common experiences of the church on the other?
