Pier to Pier - Listen to the podcast, pray The Lord's Prayer in steps, and take time to intentionally pray over someone during a walk, FaceTime, etc.
We begin the Art of Following Jesus this weekend. I feel as though the River church is about to blossom. My wife has planted roses all around our house. She cuts them back each winter and they look like dead, useless, stumps in the ground. But each year, they begin to show signs of life and send out stems that eventually bring forth the fruit of her labor, beautiful roses. It’s time. Through our new focus on discipleship, following the words and ways of Jesus, we as a church will begin producing fruit that will be seen throughout the South Bay communities and beyond. It’s happening. This weekend we begin this new journey by focusing on prayer, a must for every person who wishes to follow Jesus. Prayer is three things: it’s conversational, it’s focused, and it’s transformational. We learn all three from Jesus as he prays to his father in John 17.
