Description

We talk about leaving a legacy. Don’t we? But what does that really mean? We hope it's more than money. Right? We hope we are leaving behind a pathway for our kids, a contribution to our church and faith in Christ, an impact in the lives of others that will outlive our relatively short lives. But how and what constitutes a good legacy? In Josh 13-19, we are re-introduced to Caleb, one of the two spies who believed that God was giving the Israelites the land. He never lost faith. He was one of two. And now at the end of his life, he does something extraordinary. He could have had the pick of the land. What do you want Caleb the faithful? Green meadows? Running water? Build-able land sites for your family farm? Nope. He wants the hill country where the descendants of the giants live. What? Give me the giants, he says. At 85 the guy is dreaming big. He’s running hard into the finish line. He was up for one more big battle. I want to live like that.

See you this Sunday.
