We begin a four month journey studying and experimenting together, four primary new spiritual practices the help us be more successful in achieving our goals as Christians - practices that shape us. We all want to mature in Christ, but how? By doing something regularly over a long period of time until it becomes who you are. That’s a spiritual practice, or spiritual discipline. James Clear says in Atomic Habits, "a 1% alteration done over a long period of time has a lasting impact on your life, for good or for worse." What are you doing regularly that is helping you achieve your spiritual goals?
This week is from Colossians 3:1-17 - learning to practice the faith. Then next week, we’ll start practicing. We’ll start with prayer. But let’s first get a basic understanding of our goal and the system we choose for achieving our goal.
