How do we create a growing culture of discipleship in and through the River Church?
Creating a culture starts with one person at a time, growing closer to Jesus and showing others how to do the same.
That means you and that means me. That means ALL OF US!
A disciple, is simply someone who believes in Jesus and seeks to follow him in his or her daily life with all of their being.
Obviously, in Jesus' day, disciples were actually IN the presence of Jesus. Today we have His word. We have the Holy Spirit. We have each other to model the work of Jesus, teach the ways of Jesus, and love with the heart of Jesus.
This Sunday we are going to look at the relationship between Paul and Timothy and how Paul encouraged Timothy to look around for others to disciple also.
It's called multiplication - one teaches one, and that one teaches, another, and so on and so forth until ultimately the whole world is full of little colonies of Jesus and the kingdom of God.
Join us THIS SUNDAY for the challenge! Imagine, EACH OF US following Jesus and becoming a disciple!
Imagine EACH OF US looking around and teaching someone else how to do the same!!!! I believe this is our opportunity to build God's church and to bring the tender love of God to all the earth!
