For many in the South Bay, the default pace of life is frenetic--work hard, play hard, family life, the list goes on. In other words, the default pace of life for many of us is at odds with the kind of simplicity that is at the sweet spot of following Jesus. For others in the South Bay, life no longer moves so fast--some are in a season of life with more freedom of time. But even for those among us in a stage of life with fewer commitments, simplicity is more than mere margin, more than mere free time, and does not simply happen because we're young and single or because the kids are grown or because work has slowed down. So the question begging to be asked is this: What are the rhythms and habits of life from the way of Jesus that help grow simplicity? Enter the rhythms of (non-idealized) intentional, worshipful rest. Join us as we continue our Simplicity series with a teaching from Exodus 20:8-11 and Deuteronomy 5:12-15 as we consider The Liberating Practice of Sabbath.
