It’s beginning to look like Christmas. Do you know why? Not because of the lights, trees, glitter and some annual Christmas brittle. Why? Because this is the time of year that we celebrate the truly unique, awe inspiring, miraculous, God coming to earth in the form of a child. We celebrate a birth. Not like any other birth though, not like any other child. This one has spoken to the depth of our being about our true condition and need for an eternal savior. Our son and daughter just had their first child, a boy. And how we are celebrating. The whole family gathered over Thanksgiving to meet our new Wendorff addition, Delphinium Theodore Wendorff. Little August, Clara and Chloe all greeted him with great excitement. We all think our kids and grandkids will do great things and be great people, but there was only one birth that would bring eternal salvation to all of humankind. Now that’s worth celebrating this Christmas. In the beginning was the word and the word was God and became flesh.
