How traditional education system kills entrepreneurship and the natural entrepreneurial drive in people? It makes people into bureaucrats.
I always hear that people are talking about school and after they get their degree they will get automatically some kind of job and security. But when I talk to entrepreneurs I hear exactly the opposite.
Unless you are an engineer, computer scientist or a doctor, there is no worth in getting a degree, because only in a few industries there is a huge in supply in demand difference in the favor of the employees. In most industries if you graduate you are worth a lot less than someone who does not have a degree, but has many years of experience.
The school system was created by bureaucrats. The people who teach in the school system are trained bureaucrats. They teach according to the curriculum that they are supposed to teach and they are not focused on results and they don’t communicate with entrepreneurs.
The professors and college teachers do not talk to entrepreneurs. They are not thinking in that way: “What are we going to teach that is going to connect with what exactly entrepreneurs need right now?”
After people come out from college they have skills like word, excel. They don’t know sales, marketing knowledge, run or support a business. They can barely pick up the phone and make a phone call.
The entrepreneurs, the people who got results and know what they are talking about are not eager to get into politics and change the system, because for them that is anti – entrepreneurship. It is a system that is being designed to take money from high producers and give it to low producers. That is how you get elected. They give you stuff in exchange of your vote. Politicians are not entrepreneurs at all.
Politicians help setup the school system and everything that supports it to create more bureaucrats and more people like them. This class of people is anti – entrepreneurial is supplying a workforce for the entrepreneurs, for the people who are creating most of the value. They are looking to the system to give them qualified smart people.
Politicians do not want to go into the system and work from within the system to fix it, because it is not profitable and it is very hard to make an impact. It is very hard to get elected without lying.
Real entrepreneurs are moving away from being interested in politics. People who are getting into politics are not qualified to help create the educational system that is going to work for businesses and create more value.
Right now there is not too much growth in the western world and wealthy countries, because there is no more entrepreneurial drive. There are so much growth opportunities, but it is not being taken advantage of.
People do not want to do anything after they graduate. They just want to take a safe little job. Entrepreneurs do not like that. They want to educate, to involve other people and create stuff not through politics, but through entrepreneurship.
I believe that if more people become entrepreneurs, then they system will fix itself. More people will teach younger people and mentor them. It is not going to be like the traditional system. It is going to be a brand new system and it will replace the current system. It is going to be awesome.
That is my personal opinion on why the traditional system is killing entrepreneurship. More and more people are taking on the mindset, responsibilities and leadership roles of being an entrepreneur.
