Running and starting a business is one of the hardest things in your life. Everyone is working against you in the beginning, that`s how it feels like. It is like the whole world is conspiring against you.
But once you push through that and you have a lot of motivation and you find your motivation, then it doesn`t matter how it feels like in the beginning, that you have all these problems and that you do not have the skills yet. Because once you have your actual motivation, then you can push through that, get your first sale and you have to prove that what you are doing works and then you can achieve whatever you want to achieve.
So, how do you find your why? I have worked with a few self-development coaches, so how do you think the life of a self-development coach looks like? Some people think it is like: “Oh, they wake up and they feel motivated. They run out of bed and they motivate people.” That is what actually people think self-development coaches do.
Here is the reality of it. A self-developing coach that actually have success and actually have money, they wake up in the morning and they are like: “Oh, I have to film the fucking video today”. They go to the gym and they think: “What I am going to make the video about, it is going to be fucking hard”. Then they get home, eating shit and think: “What is the video going to be about?”
They research in the laptop, then they make a video and no one watches it. They do it for half a year and five people watch the video, they do it for a year and it is okay – a hundred people have watched the video.
People think it is super easy. So why are they able to do that? They decided that whatever it is, that is going to happen in your life, they want to help people to achieve more.
But they develop that passion by implementing what it is they need to do every single day. This is why everyone else fails. Because they think that you wake up and you have the passion from day one.
But in the reality, you wake up and you do not have any fucking passion for your business in the beginning. You just do it because you know that you should do it. After x amount of time, for some people weeks, for some people months, for me it took two years to get my business to be profitable.
I also work with people who start off and they say: “I want to be a self-developing coach” and I am like: “Do not be a self-developing coach. Do not do it because you are not going to be able to wake up every morning and film that video and go promoting it. What about you do what actually works for people with no experience, people who just start off and want to make money. What about becoming a freelancer?” They say “Okay then” and they come back after a week saying they are not passionate about becoming a freelancer.
How are you going to be a self-developing coach in one or two years if you don`t have any marketing, sales skills, you do not have any skills at all? People usually come back after two months and they say they are still not passionate about it.
But after three, four or six months they come back again and say: “My business is going so well, I just made ten thousand dollars last month! Now I am passionate about it because I figured out how this works, while before I didn`t know how this works. I went from absolutely no skills and I grinded in the beginning and I made it happen despite not feeling like it”.
That is how you develop passion. People think you need to find it in the beginning and then act upon the passion. You read an article and it is like Steve Jobs found a passion about computers. No, Steve Jobs found a profitable business for computers. He made it awesome and then he became super passionate about it. That is my way of thinking about it.
