You are going to find out how to make friends on the Internet. You can never have enough friends, be it online or in real life. By using online social media tools like Facebook, and making smart choices about what type of information you put on your profile, as well as how you communicate with your online presence and which Facebook groups to join, you can create a large network of old and new online friends.

Have you ever been part of one of those big Facebook groups, and thought “Wow. It would be great if I can create something like this myself.”

There are a lot of Facebook and mastermind groups where you can find people with the same interests like you.

Many people join Facebook groups and masterminds, but they rarely talk to other people, because they are afraid of making the wrong first impression.

The old fashioned way of thinking about making new friends is that first impression is the most important and that is what people are going to think about you forever. That is completely not true in the online space. If you are dealing with people who are actually doing stuff in their lives, then no such issues occur that much.

You get a certain reputation when you say something, but it tends to go away after a while if you provide enough value. If you keep providing value and helping people, it does not really matter what your first impression was.

People are constantly asking questions in Facebook and mastermind groups. Some of them do not get any response, because there is so much to in our lives and everyone is super busy. It’s helpful if members like yourself are commenting in the groups and helping other members. It’s better to have people who are pillars of the community and keeping the community alive. You will be a very valued member of the community.

Add a very valuable response and try to solve someone’s problem once or twice a day. People are going to recognize you and treat you like a valued member of the community. That is how you make friends on the Internet.

People tend to participate when they need something. If you participate in conversions only when you need something, you are going to make yourself very unpopular and you will build a bad name for you.

You have to build a social capital over a period of time before you ask for stuff. You are using up social capital when you ask for stuff and you are building up social capital when you are adding value.

Just running a group does not really mean anything. Your job as a Facebook group owner is to provide value to other members. It’s how much value you provide and how much change you create in people’s lives. Anything other than that is useless to them and they will treat it as such.
