There are many people on Upwork who are looking for a specific service. On the other hand, you don’t need to look for a specific client. It does not matter who the client is. You have to do what the market demands.

Do your market research and target only that group of people where the market is huge. Even if the market is full of hairdressers, you have to adjust your business to them and offer services to hairdressers.

Most likely that is not the case. The market is full of people who are doing all kind of businesses, but in most of them are life and business coaches.

If you want to get started in the freelance business, there is one very simple thing you can do. Learn a skill, for example, Facebook adds or website creation, sell it on platforms like Upwork and charge as much money as you can.

What is the difference between freelancers and non – freelancers?

A freelancer is someone who sells his time to multiple companies. Selling time for money is what what freelancers do. If you think as a fully – fledged business owner, you are thinking about how you can maximize your effort.

Most business owners are very good at sales. They spend a lot of their time finding leads and getting new sales. Instead of thinking how much time should I spend, you should be thinking how you can maximize the time at what you are best at.

If you are a very good business owner, it will be very hard to get a better sales person than you. The skill sales is where business is. If you are good at sales, you will be able to get the work done cheaply. People who are good at sales will always get a better deal than you.

Even though you are an expert at Facebook adds and graphic design, even though you have amazing skills, the person who is good at sales will always get a higher price on what he is selling.

This is how business works. For example, a laptop can cost $200 to be made, but it costs $2000. You are not being scammed. That is just business.
