Today, we are going to talk about how to become a master in anything you want to master in the world. In this podcast, I am going to share with you my number 1 tip that I use on a daily basis with me and my clients to get them and myself the best possible results and get us successfully on the path to mastery.
When you go to a party or you are having fun, what you want to do is be in the moment and have fun and just relax. That is what most people are doing - just relaxing and not thinking too much what is going on.
If you want to be on the path to mastery, you need to be training and practicing something with a purpose. You need to sit down and just focus for that one thing for extended period of time on a regular basis.
Here is the thing that most people miss. They combine the having fun mindset with the mastery mindset. It is conflicted. It does not work. It is not like you cannot have any fun while mastering a skill.
People are saying: “I am not enjoying this process, so maybe this is not the path to mastery for me. I need to do something that I am more passionate about, something more interesting or something that I enjoy.” This usually ends up being going out and having fun or drinking alcohol or smoking weed and all these things that people do.
Of course you can enjoy doing that, but that does not mean you are actually passionate about or you are supposed to be doing that for the rest of your life.
My solution is to focus on enjoying the process. Do the repetitive work that it takes. A true master or someone on the path to mastery understands that this repetitive work on a regular consistent basis is what gets results.
For example, Michael Phelps has won more than 20 medals. He says that he does not enjoy training and waking up in the morning and doing all this stuff, hut I can guarantee you that he enjoys and appreciates the results. No one who is doing it for 10 years still enjoys doing this exact same repetitive process over and over. They enjoy the fact that they are on the path to mastery.
They become the master of that skill and that is what makes them different from everyone else. They do not care if they are enjoying it at the moment. They do it, because they just have to do it as opposed to they do something, because they feel good about doing it right now.
That is what most people on a path to mastery get on a very deep level. Everyone on a path to mastery implement. Some people are not aware of what is going on, but when I have researched it and have read books about it and when I have talked to people who have achieved something to a mastered level, they all told me the same thing.
Of course, they do not like the practice. Of course, they do not like the repetitive work, but they like being on the path to mastery, because that is what they have decided to do. That is what they have dedicated their life to do.
If you want to achieve any kind of success in life, being financial, personal or anything else, you need to commit to something. It does not need everything in your life to be repetitive tasks, but if you master at least one thing, you will see that your entire life will start going in a good direction as opposed to in a bad direction.
This is a very simple principle. Do not focus on enjoying the path to mastery every single moment. Just focus on the long term goal and just focus on it and keep implementing on a daily basis. It is very simple, but almost no one actually implement it.
If you were implementing it or someone else was implementing it, they would get it and they would already be on a path to mastery. I guarantee you that.
