During Reunion and Commencement Weekend 2013, graduating senior Julia Mark ’13 reflected with her father about her time at Wesleyan and the lives of generations of students living on campus and calling its buildings home.
Julia: “A lot can change in fifty years.”
Charlie: “These places may still here, but…”
Julia: “You’re sort of replaced by other people. The campus is always in flux. Every four years it’s all new.”
Charlie: “Yes, it’s always changing. These objects are in a sense different, as they go through time.”
Julia, after graduating with degrees in music and psychology, moved to Boston where she designs and teaches a youth music curriculum. She also performs original music as a singer/songwriter.
Charlie Mark is a clinical psychologist by day and a jazz saxophonist by night.
The Wesleyan Storytelling Project is produced by Mia Lobel ’97 and production intern Tess Altman ’17.
