I visited what is thought to be the UK's oldest joke shop, situated here in Hull. I was inspired by the window displays (that rarely change), to write a song, 'It's A Joke!', because life is very much like a joke shop. It's full of stuff - some of it good, & some of it bad. Some of the things are funny, & some of them are not. Life is full of surprises, & you never know what's around the corner. Life is, indeed, a joke.
This track is an 'early mix', that will form part of my 13th solo album, 'Unlucky For Some'. There are 13 tracks, & it's due to be released on 13th October (2026). The song features the ever-energetic local musician/singer-songwriter, Rob Nicklas on guitar.
