Helen Davis Chaitman is a nationally recognized litigator with a diverse trial practice in the areas of lender liability, bankruptcy, bank fraud, RICO, professional malpractice, and trusts and estates. Among Ms. Chaitman’s achievements are the following:

• In 1995, Ms. Chaitman was named one of the nation’s top ten litigators by the National Law Journal for a jury verdict she obtained in an accountants’ malpractice case.

• Ms. Chaitman is the author of The Law of Lender Liability (Warren, Gorham & Lamont 1990) which has been updated annually since 1990.

• Since 1987, Ms. Chaitman has authored the monthly newsletter, The Lender Liability Law Report, which is subscribed to by law firms and financial institutions through the United States.

• In 2014, Ms. Chaitman and Mr. Gotthoffer began publishing their book “JPMadoff: The Unholy Alliance Between America’s Biggest Bank and America’s Biggest Crook” on their website jpmadoff.com

• On November 19, 2014, Pam Martens of Wall Street on Parade wrote about the book: “what attorneys Chaitman and Gotthoffer are doing is extraordinary and unprecedented.”

• On February 5, 2015, Larry Kotlikoff reviewed Chapter 7 of the book and wrote: “This is a chapter–and a book–that should be read by every American who has a bank account or uses a credit card.”

• Since early 2009, Ms. Chaitman has been an outspoken advocate for investors in Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. She has lobbied in Congress, on a pro bono basis, for statutory changes to assure Madoff customers of the protections of the Securities Investor Protection Act.
