MiddleSkyBoom is a London / Tel Aviv based producer who describes his music as over thought improvisations. Julian is Normal has been a secret weapon of hours for months now. When we first heard it, we knew is was for us; mid-tempo, synth jam, with an off kilter sliced and diced vocal sample.
Mountin Age is slightly more delicate and intricate in sound. It has an almost naïve and pop warmth to it. It really grabs and pulls on the heartstrings. Can a mid-tempo groover really be this melancholy?
We’ve been chasing this one for a while, so it is a real honour to have Deadbeat contribute to the label. Longtime fans of his work, this is techno reduced down to its very core. To finish up we asked Throb Circle to put their stamp on Julian is Normal and they played an absolute blinder creating a dark and eerie effort, with dare we say a throbbing bassline.
