Description

KEY 1: PRACTICE PROPER BOUNDARIES – KNOW WHERE I END AND GOD BEGINS

 I am not God

“So now, my beloved, obey as you have always done, not only when I am with you, but even more so when I can’t be. Continue to work out your salvation, with great fear and trembling,   because God is
energizing you so that you will desire and do what always pleases Him.” Philippians 2:12-13

 God’s work: To give me what I need to fulfill His good purpose

The “WANT TO” comes from God
The “POWER TO” comes from God
The Gospel = What God demands, He SUPPLIES

 My work: Obey

KEY 2: UNDERSTAND THAT WHAT I KNOW IS LIMITED, BUT WHO I TRUST IS NOT

“Do everything without murmuring and questioning the providence of God, so that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish
in the midst of a morally crooked and spiritually perverted generation.” Philippians 2:14

“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

KEY 3: COOPERATE WITH GOD “TO BECOME” WHO I ALREADY AM

“…so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Philippians 2:15

KEY 4: SHINE BRIGHTER AS THE WORLD GETS DARKER

“Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life....” Philippians 2:15c-16a

Hear + Read + study + Memorize + Meditate = Firm grip on Word of Life

Then shine by LIVING it!

5. GIVE YOURSELF AWAY TO THE ONLY CAUSE THAT WILL LAST, NO MATTER HOW YOU FEEL

“And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.   But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and
rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.” Philippians 2:16b-18

“But this precious treasure — this light and power that now shine within us — is held in a perishable container, that is, in our weak bodies. Everyone can see that the glorious power within must be from God and is not our own. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but not crushed and broken. We are perplexed because we don’t know why things happen as they do, but we don’t give up and quit.    We are
hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going. These bodies of ours are constantly facing death just as Jesus did; so it is clear to all that it is only
the living Christ within who keeps us safe.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-10
