WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING UP
NEHEMIAH 4:6,10-14
WHY WE GIVE UP
FATIGUE (vs. 10a)"Meanwhile the people in Judah said, `The strength of the laborers is giving out...'"
FRUSTRATION (vs. 10b)
"... and there is so much rubble..."
FAILURE (vs. 10c)"... we cannot rebuild the wall..."
FEAR (vs. 11)"Also our enemies said, `Before they know it or see us ... we will kill them and put an end to their work!'" (vs. 12)THE CURE FOR GIVING UP
RESET YOUR PRIORITIES (vs. 13)
“Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest point of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.”VS13
RECALL TO MIND (vs. 14a)" I said to them ... `Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome… "
My soul has been rejected from peace; I have forgotten happiness. So I say, “My strength has perished, And so has my hope from the Lord.”
Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness.Surely my soul remembers, And is bowed down within me. This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning;Great is Your faithfulness “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,“Therefore I have hope in Him.”
