This is my entry for the Beat Collective Challenge of 07-03-2023 in which we have one month to incorporate two or three samples into an original track.
This time the samples are from Ric Wickes and comprising:-
- accidental guitar pop
- vocals "Shine" from a previous track
- wood block noise
The guitar is used in the intro and in the two breakdowns pretty much as is with just some warping, reverb, Ableton's Amp and delay and just a tweak to bring it down a semitone.
The vocals I've chopped and used pretty much throughout the track, adding delay, saturation, drum bus (works well to enhance vocals) & compression. I like the sinister feel they have so I wanted to keep them as close as I could to the original sample. Then I added extra vocals as responses to the sample to try to tell a story.
The woodblock I've used as percussion throughout the track after warping and adding reverb and a few other effects.
