We are very excited to welcome coach, Danielle Stefano, to season four of the Witsup Podcast! Between you and us, you'll be seeing her appear on our website as a new contributor as well - bringing a wealth of knowledge and insight to your viewing pleasure.
Danielle is a high performance coach who now runs her own business ELOTIK PRO TRIATHLON - https://www.elotikprotriathlon.com
She comes from an impressive background as a Sports Scientist which has seen her working with a variety of sports, eg. Track and field, cycling, men's hockey, and also included the role as a physiologist for the Australian Swim Team.
She eventually took on the role as the Triathlon Head Coach at The Victorian Institute of Sport, but unfortunately was faced with a rough road ahead in this position. Danielle ruffled a few feathers when she earned this title, receiving a lot of backlash, threats and bullying, all from those who didn't feel she deserved the role. BUT, she stuck it out. We were a little gobsmacked with this part of her story, and Danielle doesn't want to dwell on it, but we both felt it was an important topic to discuss.
Onto more positive notes, Danielle now works for herself with elite triathletes, and is looking into improving junior development within the sport. Have a listen to her story, her insights and what she's learnt about herself over her years in elite sport.
