The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise Yahweh of hosts: for Yahweh is good; for his mercy endures for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 33:11
The first part of this verse is wedding talk. What is linked with the wedding talk? The last part of the verse is talking about the END of the exile, that the exiles of Israel will be returning to the land. Wedding is associated with the gathering of the exiles and return to the land.
How are we to prepare for the days that are coming upon us, the days known as “Jacob’s Trouble”? How are we to prepare spiritually? Right in the middle part of the verse, we have the phrase “of them that shall bring the SACRIFICE OF PRAISE into the House of the Lord.”
This is sandwiched right in the middle between “voice of the bridegroom/voice of bride” and the ending of the captivity of His people.
What IS the sacrifice of praise? What is this really talking about? The phrase “sacrifice of praise” in Hebrew is TOWDAH. It has a much deeper meaning of “thanksgiving offering”. It means a LIFE of praise and worship, not a moment, not an event, but a LIFE of praise and worship!
