What if you bought a ticket to Sydney, Australia. You boarded the plane. Landed in Toronto for your connecting flight, Boarded that plane. Then, realized when you landed that your final destination was Sydney, Nova Scotia? It happened to a Dutch teenager earlier this year. What seemed like a great deal on a plane ticket actually put him in a place he did not desire to go. Nothing against Nova Scotia, but when you're planning to hike Australia in the summer, sitting in 6 inches of snow in Canada is a bit of a shock.
What's worse than boarding the wrong plane is living life thinking your destination is set (you know, heaven) only to discover too late that you weren't heading there at all. Jesus speaks of this reality with a parable of wheat and weeds.
