The proclamation of the Word of God through all God's children was longed for by the Old Testament prophets. This came to fruition in Jerusalem at the Feast of Pentecost as stated in Acts 2. Peter, previously hiding out from the Romans, then sequestered with the disciples in the upper room at this time is filled with the Holy Spirit and becomes a preacher of the gospel. His boldness, empowered by God is that which all believers are called to have in this era.
