OMG! I didn't really know about the baby down the well story, but there was a Simpsons parody of that story where Bart puts a speaker down a well and pretends that there is a kid stuck at the bottom! There are countless references to conspiracies in the Simpsons. I recently read an article about 15 times The Simpsons predicted the future.
