What is LOVE?
Can you trust it? Can you trust yourself?
How many forms of LOVE are there and how many do you/we engage?
do you share beyond romantic, extending out to family, chosen family, community, nature, flora, fauna...
How many forms of LOVE are you?
When I do fall in love, I write poems of wild declarations and have only learned that poems are disliked, unless of course, they become a song.
I leave the lyrical gushing of romance and the many declarations of independence in the form of "i don't need you" songs, to the Pop stars. These songs of mine are philosophical inquiries; desires and failures laid bare on the open rocks, where the tide of the oceans slap. I have needed you, but why? Do you need me? Want, Need, and all the in between, confuses me. I've become pretzel, I've become flower, I've become doormat, I've become savior.
At this ripe age, I no longer want and I no longer need what I thought I did, and continue to explore the many expressions of this thing called LOVE. But what I do know, LIBERATION without LOVE will surely fail in the embers of fatigue, disappointments and nervous system burn outs.
May you be held. May you hold.
