For this year’s Homecoming episode, Aldo NICE decided to do a little something different and kick off the Nothin’ NICE to Say interview series. After Rumble started things off by fantasizing about if he had went to an HBCU (01:00), Aldo gave a recap of Xavier University Homecoming 2018 including the introduction of our feature interview (05:00), some musings about how different people ‘do’ homecoming (07:00), and a few funny tidbits from the weekend (10:00). Up next, the feature length interview with Xavier’s own Black Coffee Company (@blkcoffeeco) began with some introductions about the founders and the coffee game (12:00) but quickly shifted to the many avenues that Black Coffee is pursuing (17:00). Our personal stories and relationships from college were explored (23:00) as we really dove into the struggles and successes of conducting a business with five equal partners (27:00). Marketing strategies and naming considerations were a big focus of the latter part of the podcast (35:00) as well as reinventing yourself (41:00) and healing old wounds (47:00). We ended the podcast by discussing the impact of Black Coffee on the community, particularly @blkcoffeeco’s voter registration efforts during the midterm elections (52:00).
