We’re excited for Disney+, but could it mean trouble for the MCU? We discuss this, as well as new Apple+ shows, The Walking Dead, and much more on today’s episode of the Geekwatch Podcast!
01:08 - We start by discussing MCU's movie release schedule for the next few years. The BLACK WIDOW trailer might be out sooner than we thought. SPIDER-MAN might be lawyering up in the next movie, and it's a face we know and love. Also, they added another movie to the 2023 slate, totaling up to 4 releases now!
04:43 - Back in the land of streaming, Netflix is grabbing new shows by partnering with Nickelodeon. It also crashed for two hours last week, which lead many to speculate that Netflix was updating the site to include features like speed watching. Brian and Mandy discuss this controversial step, which has a lot of film-makers worried.
09:56 - Brian kept his word and checked out Apple+ offering for us. He reviews the few episodes of FOR ALL MANKIND and SEE, both of which look promising.
18:53 - Then we discuss Disney+ and the drama with its 10 million subscribers bringing the site down on the first day. Brian has good news for Jeff Goldblum fans, and THE MANDALORIAN is already becoming iconic in the world of memes. Then we talk about Kevin Feige's comment about Disney+ shows being a mandatory watch before viewing future MARVEL movies. Mandy feels it's unfair and Brian reminds Marvel how this tactic worked out for comic books a few years ago.
30:03 - And finally, we get to the most recent episodes of THE WALKING DEAD! Join us as we talk zombies and spoilers again.
